FlexDI - SI Heavy fuels
Special applications require high specific power from heavy fuels without the use of engine boosting. High specific power in these engines is not possible using compression ignition.
FlexDI is able to offer an advanced Spark Ignition solution for heavy fuel engines including Kerosene (JP5, JP8 and JetA1). FlexDI is also able to seamlessly handle spark ignited Diesel applications.
FlexDI can provide a low cost solution for spark ignited ATVs, outboard engines, snowmobiles and motorcycles. For high power density applications where heavy fuel, spark ignition is required FlexDI simply can't be bettered.
An existing FlexDI engine does not need major re-design for use with heavy fuel. Modifications to piston design, compression ratio and fuel injection system are required.
For high specific power output requirements FlexDI can be used on 2 stroke engines where FlexDI currently is able to realise up to 70kW per litre. 60kW per litre can be achieved with a 4 stroke engine using a turbocharger and Kerosene.
